After a slow week on the Billboard albums chart, Taylor Swift has landed the number one sport yet again. The 21-year-old pop star’s “Speak Now” held on to the number 1 spot again while posting the lowest totals ever for a number 1 album in the SoundScan era.
According to SoundScan, the disc sold 52,000 copies, which means it’s now over the 3 million mark, but also broke the record set by the soundtrack to the movie "Dreamgirls", which had the previous number 1 low at 66,000.
Only one new album moved into the top 10, the soundtrack to Gwyneth Paltrow's "Country Strong," which came in at number 10.
The rest of the top half of the chart suffered double-digit percentage losses, including Nicki Minaj’s, Pink Friday; Bruno Mars, Doo-Wops & Hooligans; "Tron Legacy" soundtrack; Eminem’s; Rihanna’s, Loud and Kanye West’s, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
On a brighter note the Black Keys got a major bump, moving up 12 spots to number 14 with their album Brothers.
