Green Day front man joins The Voice

The Voice has finally announced the artiste who will serve as mentor to Christina Aguilera’s team.

 Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has joined NBC's singing competition.

He joins previously announced season three mentors Rob Thomas on Cee Lo Green's team, Mary J. Blige on Adam Levine's team and Michael Buble on Blake Shelton's team.

 Armstrong started taping Wednesday on The Voice, which has been in production since June.
