On the twenty-second anniversary of the 1990 coup, government is once again being asked to make July 27th an annual day of thanksgiving and prayer.

This time, the call comes from former hostage of the 1990 attempted coup, Wendell Eversley.

Though acknowledging the ongoing inquiry, he said that more needs to be done and drew reference to America’s observance of the 9/11 anniversary.

As his own form of observance, Eversley has staged a one man walk from the Arima Dial to the eternal flame at the Red House in Port of Spain today.
